Cheney, Kansas

Cheney's 18 hole public golf course rivals public and private courses in the Midwest. The course and clubhouse were built through donations and a federal grant, and was designed by one of the top golf course builders in the nation. The golf course quickly moved ahead of projections for rounds played, and continues to draw new visitors to the community each week.

The course is open 364 days a year. Amenities include a driving range, practice green, and recently remodeled club house with merchandise, snacks and beverages.

Recent improvements include the addition of many new trees. The course is located on the north edge of town on Main Street, and is easily accessible to golfers from Wichita, Hutchinson and surrounding communities.

Tee times are encouraged, especially on weekends and holidays. Cherry Oaks offers private lessons, men's and women's leagues in the summer, and can easily accommodate tournaments.

An outdoor pavilion at Cherry Oaks is available for many events including family gatherings, class reunions and golf tournaments.
